In Samburu, resilience is forged by heat and hardship. Adolescents face some of the harshest realities, drought, malnutrition, early marriages, FGM, low school completion, and limited opportunities. Yet, in the same youth lies a fire, the drive to rise above circumstances, to change their story, and to lead their communities into a healthier, more hopeful future. Biotisho, which means well-being, speaks directly to adolescents, reminding them that they are not passive victims of circumstance but agents of change. The campaign is movement anchored on guiding adolescents to take positive control of their health, choices, and future. Adolescents are talking openly about nutrition, mental health, reproductive health, and harmful practices like FGM. Girls and boys are beginning to see themselves as leaders, not just beneficiaries. Their inner fire is shifting identity from being at risk to being resourceful, making healthy behaviours feel like pride, not punishment. This campaign is funded by UNICEF, implemented by CBCC Africa with the Samburu County Government.
