Gender Based Violence – PIGA NDURU (Scream!)

Piga Nduru is a bold, empathetic rallying cry to end all forms of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Kenya. Just like we raise alarm during a robbery or fire, this campaign reframes GBV as an emergency that deserves immediate attention and collective response. It calls on communities not to stay silent speak out, seek help, report abuse, support survivors. Too often, GBV is normalized or hidden in homes and communities. Piga Nduru breaks the silence by urging individuals to act, for themselves or on behalf of others. Whether the violence is physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or rooted in harmful cultural practices, it is a violation of human rights. By normalizing urgency in response and care, the campaign promotes timely access to quality GBV services and community protection. Piga Nduru. Ripoti ukatili wa kijinsia. Let this be the call that saves lives, restores dignity, and builds safer, more just communities. The campaign is funded by World Bank through Ministry of Health and implemented by CBCC, NASCOP and other partners.
