Project information

USAID Imarisha Jamii is a five (5) year program funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to increase the use of quality county-led health and social services in Turkana County. The key areas of focus for the Program include HIV Prevention, Care & Treatment, Family Planning, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (FP/RMNCAH), Nutrition as well as Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) Services.

The Program Objectives are to:
Increase access and demand for quality HIV Prevention services.
Increase access and demand for quality HIV Treatment services.
Increase access and demand for quality health and social services for OVC’s and their families.
Increase access and demand for quality Family Planning, Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health, Nutrition and Water and Sanitation Services.
Strengthen capacity of County Health Systems, Local Partners and Communities to deliver quality health services.

The Program is implemented by a consortium of partners including Amref Health Africa in Kenya (Lead Implementing Partner)Center for Behavior Change and Communication – Africa (CBCC – Africa), African Inland Church (AIC) Health Ministries, Catholic Diocese of Lodwar (CDOL), Turkana Pastoralist Development Organization (TUPADO) and Reformed Church of East Africa (RCEA).
